Pan Cheng Miow and his Nephew the teacher and bone doctor Pan Chang 'An.
With PCM's grandson ( a chaos monster who will me a formidable opponent in the future! ) Mr Chen's instrument. He teaches and plays beautifully. The music is scored quite differently from in the West. The bow sits in the middle of the two strings which are tuned to D and A so depending which string is played it is moved across in different ways.
Yan Shr Fu ( full name Yan Da Shi ) is a formidable teacher from Yong Chun. He is also a Tui Na ( chinese phisio massager ) practitioner which gives him a great understanding on the body, and vital points.

He is of the Ong Gong Shr lineage, and currently teaches as well at the Rising Dragon school of kung fu http://www.risingdragonschool.com/ . I would recommend seeing him as part of a trip to train in china.
Mr Chen. A fine teacher and extremely enthusiastic about life in general. Pan Cheng Miouw and his very hospitable wife. ( also a great cook ).
Some of Mr Chens kids. The guy on one leg is fantastic and performed a form from Xiouw Hu ( small tiger ) for me. After a morning's practice and music....let the drinking games begin!
The weights of Dr Yi who gave me some fine arm conditioning ointment after I had to do it with his students. Ow!! On the balcony. Starting off on the Swan Dao form which I thought I would never get to learn.
Working on the family web site and trying to decide what to show and what to keep hidden. ( I would guess about 1% of the system is on the site ). just read rule 7...
The 2 huangs, the master his son, the mafia and a pissed englishman.
The two Huangs. The elder from Macau (who studied with Pan Cheng Miou's father) was visiting his home town for the first time in 40 years to work with us on the web site. In addition to being complete enthusiasts and respected teachers in their own right, they were extremely generous and sharing. I studied physics at university. This gentleman and crane practitioner is used to be a physics teacher. Neither of us likes wearing tops.
Ling Ling Chi ( 007 ) one of the waitresses forced to toast the table. Several times.
Hung over, and on the way for a day in the national park ( which turned into a night at the temple ).
Buying tea in Yong Chun is like tasting wine in france. If you go there you have to go through this with someone who knows what they are doing. I think there are 2 essential things to buy in Yong Chun - tea, and glasses ( prescription sun glasses cost 15 each with the test - this means as most of my family wears glasses it is worth flying there just to save the money ) Thanking Pan Chang 'An before leaving. Pan Chang An was extremely helpful prior to my trip. He works for a large travel company - if you want to go to Yong Chun and explore your own adventure I can put you in touch and would be happy to help you as much as you like to get there. FYI the flight was 700 and I spent about 300 over 2 weeks plus another 150 on bits and bobs for fun. That is how much it costs to do it in relative luxury ( e.g. taxi from Xia Men instead of bus which turned out to be a complete mistake. )
Locking hands and staring deep into the eyes!!! Beautiful, just beautiful.
A traditional 2004 stance..
Mrs Pan lends her critical eye.
Part of the other 99% of the system...... The very helpful Mr Yi who likes his stone weights and balls. I suspect a specialist in the first and second commandments.
Start them young ( grandson age is best it seems.. ) Mr Pan's first son. Although he has not practised for about 12 years, he did a form in the hotel on the night of the drinks and filming. This was the first time his dad had seen him dance since he had grown up. He is a great technition especially with the knives ( the family speciality ). In addition, he made my stay there extremely nice helping me in any way I asked.

I leave this photo last, as it is one of my favourites.
